What Is ETL Listed Certification?
ETL stands for Electrical Testing Laboratories, founded by Thomas Edison in 1896. Today, the ETL Listed mark is owned and issued by Intertek, a global testing and certification organization with over 1,000 laboratories in 100+ countries.
The ETL mark is now one of the two most recognized NRTL marks in North America — alongside UL.ETL Listed means the product meets the EXACT SAME safety standards as UL. The testing protocol, standard requirements, and regulatory recognition are identical. The difference is the issuing body. ETL is accepted by all major US retailers — Home Depot, Lowe's, Walmart, Amazon — and recognized by OSHA and the Standards Council of Canada.

Step 1: Product Evaluation
Send us your product specifications, user manual, and target market (US, Canada, or both). We identify the applicable ETL standards and provide a detailed quote and timeline — no obligation, free of charge.
Step 2: Product Testing
Your Chinese manufacturer sends product samples to our Shenzhen laboratory — not overseas. We run the full battery of ETL-required safety tests: electrical, mechanical, thermal, and environmental per the applicable UL/CSA standards.
Step 3: Factory Inspection
Our local inspector visits the Chinese factory to verify quality control processes, production consistency, and compliance capability. No international travel scheduling needed — our team is already in China.
Step 4: ETL Listed — Certificate Issued
All test reports and inspection results are submitted to Intertek. Once approved, the ETL Listed mark (or cETLus for both US and Canada) is authorized for your product.
